Neela Vaanam
Neela Vaanam (lit. 'Blue Sky') is a 1965 Indian Tamil language film, directed by P. Madhavan and produced by Varathan. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan, Devika, Rajasri and Nagesh in lead roles. The film had musical score by M. S. Viswanathan.

Plot
Babu (Sivaji Ganesan) and Vimala (Rajasree) are lovers. However, under a circumstance Babu is forced to marry the dying Gowri (Devika) without the acknowledgement of Vimala. Vimala and Gowri are friends. Shocked by her lover's marriage to Gowri, Vimala and Babu tried to keep their past as a secret from Gowri. What will happen to Gowri forms the rest of the story.

Production
Neela Vaanam was directed by P. Madhavan and produced by Varadan under Pattu Films. The screenplay was written by K. Balachander. Cinematography was handled by Karnan, and the editing by R. Devarajan.[2] The final length of the film was 4,800 metres (15,700 ft).[3]
Soundtrack
The music was composed by M. S. Viswanathan and the lyrics were penned by Kannadasan.[4] Playback singers are T. M. Soundararajan, P. Susheela and L. R. Eswari.[5]

Reception
Neela Vaanam was released on 10 December 1965.[2] "There is nothing much to write home about K. Balachander's screenplay and dialogue" This movie ran 80+ days all over Tamilnadu and became a commercial success. Public appreciated Devika acting in this movie Public called Viswanathan's music "pleasing".[1]
