Narasimharajapura
Narasimharajapura is a panchayat town and taluk headquarters in Chikkamagaluru district in the Indian state of Karnataka. It belongs to the Malenadu region of Chikmagalur district. The nearest railway stations are Bhadravathi (45 km), Shivamogga (55 km) and Tarikere (67 km). It was formerly known as Yedehalli until 1882. Shri benjamin Luis has included under epigraphy of Karnataka in 6th Samputa. In 1915, Yuvaraja Shri Narasimharaja Wodeyar visited Yedehalli and in his memory, the town was named after him as Narasimharajapura, now called N.R. Pura. This taluk had 65 gramas, as of date 42 shasanas are available. This taluk was ruled by Ganga, Kadamba, Santhara, Hoysala and Vijayanagara kings.

Narasimharajapura is located at 13.62°N 75.52°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 697 m (2,287 ft)[2]. Temperatures reach no more than 30° degree Celsius. Belonging to the Malenadu region, it experiences good rain throughout the year.
Demographics
As of the 2001 Indian census,[3] Narasimharajapura had a population of 7,441. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Narasimharajapura has an average literacy rate of 91%, higher than the state average of 75.3%: male literacy is 93%, and female literacy is 88%. In Narasimharajapura, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Attractions
The Shri Atishaya Kshetra Simhanagadde is located near the town and is famous for the Atishaya (place of miracles) of Goddess Jwalamalini - Yakshini (guardian spirit) of the Eighth Tirthankara, Shri Bhagwan Chandraprabhu in Jainism. The Simhanagadde Jwalamalini Temple is located at Simhanagadde town near Narasimharajapura in Chikkamagaluru district.[4]
Shri Kshetra Simhanagadde is famous for the Atishaya (place of miracles) of Jwalamalini Devi - Yakshini (guardian spirit) of the Eighth Tirthankara, Shri Bhagwan Chandraprabhu in Jainism.[5]
