Evan Shamoon reviewed the Dreamcast version of the game for Next Generation, rating it three stars out of five, and stated that "If you're a hockey fan and own a Dreamcast, you definitely need this game. Otherwise, you may want to wait 'til next year."[5]
The game was positive. GameRankings gave it a 75.98%. GameSpot and IGN gave it 8.6/10. GameRevolution gave it a B grade.
Next Generation was more negative giving it a 3/5.
