Muvva Gopaludu

Muvva Gopaludu is a 1987 Telugu-language drama film produced by S. Gopal Reddy under the Bhargav Art Productions banner and directed by Kodi Ramakrishna. It stars Nandamuri Balakrishna, Vijayashanti in the lead roles and music composed by K. V. Mahadevan. The film was a remake of the Tamil film Aruvadai Naal.[2][3][4]

Plot

Dr. Nirmala (Vijayashanti), an orphan Christian girl, lives in a convent and wants to become a nun. She is sent to a village to Father Lawrence (Gollapudi Maruti Rao) and she works as a doctor in the village, where she meets an innocent youth, Muvva Gopala Krishna Prasad / Gopi (Nandamuri Balakrishna); Basava Raju (Rao Gopal Rao) brother-in-law and maternal uncle to Gopi brings up him without any affections and treats him like his worker, only his sister Nagalakshmi (Jayachitra) loves him. Gopi and Nirmala fall in love with each other, when Basava Raju arranges Gopi's marriage with his daughter, and Gopi and Nirmala reveal their love, Basava Raju finally accepts their marriage with Nagalakshmi's help. Nirmala is eager for her wedding and leaves the village for taking with her the convent's sisters.

Basava Raju prepares the puberty ceremony of Krishnaveni (Shobhana), Gopi's niece, and manages to hide a Thaali inside a flower garland. Gopi, as an uncle, puts the flower garland around Krishnaveni's neck and he gets married with her without knowing. Nagalakshmi complains against Basava Raju for arranging a child marriage, but the complaint is withdrawn. The rest of the story is what happens to Gopi and Nirmala.
