In February 2019, story discussions took place between Akhil Akkineni and director Bhaskar with GA2 Pictures's Bunny Vas attached to produce the movie.[4] On 24 May 2019, the film was officially launched at Filmnagar temple with Pooja. Akhil's parents Akkineni Nagarjuna, Amala Akkineni along with film crew joined the occasion. It was also revealed director Vasu Varma is co-producing along with Bunny Vas.[5][6]

The film's casting crew auditioned over 100 actresses and models for leading actress role.[7] They finalised Pooja Hegde as the lead in August 2019.[8] Filming started early September 2019.[9]

The music was composed by Gopi Sundar, including the song "Manasa Manasa".[10]

Release

Most Eligible Bachelor was initially scheduled to release in April 2020.[11] Due to the COVID-19 pandemic,[12] the release was pushed back to January 2021, to coincide with Pongal.[1]

gollark: I'll work on this when I'm not on a phone.
gollark: Wait, no, this is index in *line* not string.
gollark: Well, this is roughly what you wanted, anyway.
gollark: Horribly messy version:```haskellwithIndices :: [a] -> [(Int, a)]withIndices = zip [1..]doStuff :: String -> [(Int, Int, Char)]doStuff s = (\(lineIx, l) -> fmap (\(charIx, char) -> (lineIx, charIx, char)) $ withIndices l) `concatMap` withIndices (lines s)main = print . doStuff $ "abcd"```
gollark: I reaaaaally don't like the mixing of english and spanishorsomething.
