Mossfield Organic Farm

Mossfield Organic Farm is a 300-acre dairy farm in Birr, County Offaly, in Ireland. Owned by Ralph Haslam, it was converted to organic farming in 1999 and since 2005 has produced a number of products using milk from his Friesian cows.[1]

Products

Mossfield Mature is an organically certified Gouda-style cheese. The cheese is aged for over eight months.

There is also a range of Mossfield Flavoured cheeses:

  • Garlic & Basil
  • Tomato & Herb
  • Mature
  • Young Plain
  • Cumin Seed

In addition to cheese the farm produces milk, buttermilk and yogurt.[2]

Awards

The cheese has won many awards including the Gold Medal at the World Cheese Awards in 2006,[3] and was the overall winner at the 2010 National Organic Awards.[4]

gollark: The OS they ship on them is a bit bad, so I used a somewhat accursed bootstrapping process to install Alpine on them.
gollark: I didn't try any of the more managed services.
gollark: Well, it works fine for me with just a compute instance thing and horrendously annoying but free network configuration.
gollark: I think the billing on those is such that you can pay for a bit of extra capacity without paying the full cost for the entire thing.
gollark: You can have a 4-core ARM machine with 24GB of RAM.
