Melnaattu Marumagal

Melnaattu Marumagal (lit. 'Foreign Daughter-in-law') is a 1975 Tamil language film, starring Sivakumar, Laurance Pourtale, Kamal Haasan and Jayasudha in the lead roles. Sivakumar's wife was played by French actress Laurance Pourtale. Kamal Haasan played the younger brother of Sivakumar. Jayasudha played Kamal Haasan's wife. Vani Ganapathy, a danseuse appeared only for a dance sequence alongside Kamal Haasan, whom she later married in 1978. The film was remade in Telugu as America Ammayi.[1]

Plot

The film is about two brothers, Sivakumar and Kamal Haasan, and their spouses. Sivakumar marries a European girl who admires Tamil culture and tradition. On the other hand, Kamal Haasan marries a Tamil girl who is attracted to Western customs.
