Malik clan (Kashmir)

Malik (Kashmiri: मलिक (Devanagari), ملک (Nastaleeq)) is a title used by various clans of Kashmir.[1] It was a title bestowed by royalty to the land owners, military officers and tribal heads. All Maliks belong to different Hindu Lineages, The surname stayed in Fashion during Mughal regime and have said to replace the Military title Dar among many and the title Bhat among a small portion in Kashmir just like Malik Tazi Bhat.

Malik's were first rajputs than they became muslim

Malik of south region of KASHMIR province are the actual Maliks Who converted from Rajputs.
