Biography

Born in Raleigh, North Carolina, Hoover won her first National trials championship in 2013, when she dominated the Women's NATC Trials Championship class throughout the season. She won the opening two rounds in New York, then took a 2nd place on day one in Vermont, regaining top spot the following day at the second Vermont round. No mistakes in Arizona gave Hoover another pair of wins, ending her season with a 2nd place and a win in New Mexico. She took the title without contesting the final two rounds.[2]

In 2014 Hoover started out her title defense as she had left off, with an opening day win in Colorado, but day two didn't go quite as smoothly and saw her slip to a 3rd-place finish. As the series moved on to Kansas Hoover took the series lead with a win and a 2nd place. Pennsylvania was next and another pair of wins. The end of season rounds were held in Tennessee and Hoover sewed up her second title on the opening day with a win.[2] With the title secured she moved up to the Women's Expert Sportsman class on day two, taking a 3rd-place finish.

For 2015 the American NATC Trials Association reformatted the classes to make the travelling easier for the support class riders. Every class below the top two now had an East and a West Region, which reduced travel time and costs dramatically. Hoover won the opening two rounds of the Eastern series, held in Nebraska, following up with a second and a 3rd in Ohio, which was enough to take her third title.[2] In the Western series Hoover faced stiff competition in the form of New Mexico rider Rachel Hassler, the pair trading wins during the Texas, Arizona and Wyoming rounds with Hassler taking the title with Hoover in second place. Hoover was selected for the 2015 Trial de Nations team alongside Hassler and Caroline Allen.[3]

During the 2016 season Hoover contested both the Women's FIM Trial World Championship and the NATC nationals. In the NATC East Hoover scored a pair of seconds in Florida[4] and a pair of thirds in Tennessee to finish third in the championship. In the Western series she took 2nd and 3rd in Oregon and two runner-up spots in Colorado to earn her second place in the championship behind Canadian rider Christy Williams. She gained experience in the World series but didn't get into the points.

2017 started with Hoover signing for the Gas Gas Factory team.[5] The NATC added a Women's Pro class and Hoover claimed the title, winning seven of the eight rounds.[6] This year the FIM Women's World Championships opening round was held on home soil in the United States, and Hoover contested the newly added Women's Trial 2 class, taking a World podium and her first world championship points on the opening day with a 3rd place. She followed this up with a 4th place on day two. A trip to Czechoslovakia and a pair of 9th-place finishes was enough to bag her 7th in the championship. Hoover also got among the points at the FIM European round held in Italy. She was part of the American Women's Trial de Nations team, alongside Rachel Hassler and Kylee Sweeten that took a 6th-place finish in the event.

Gas Gas USA announced that Hoover would be part of the US factory team for the 2018 season.[7] Hoover took the 2018 NATC Women's Pro title with a clean sweep, winning all eight rounds she contested.[8] Once again competing in the FIM World Women's Trial 2 class she rode to a pair of 2nd places in Japan behind Alex Brancati,[9] a 3rd in France and a 6th place in England giving her second place overall in the World Championships.

gollark: There's CraftOS-EFI, but it's not feature-complete.
gollark: I think it's mostly better to go for specific feature detection rather than version checks.
gollark: I have been known to use mobile telephony/computation apparatus.
gollark: For security and general sanity, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not just go around sending packets over the network with all the related functions.
gollark: Do so. With every (useful) PR PotatOS grows stronger.
