Maddie Rice

Maddie Rice is an American guitarist.[1] In 2015 she was chosen to play lead guitar in Jon Batiste's Stay Human, the house band for Stephen Colbert, on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.[2] Her choice was seen as remarkable, as she was then just 22 years old.

Rice grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, and attended Judge Memorial Catholic High School. [1][3]Rice was so dedicated to music that she finished her homework at school so she could devote five hours per night to practicing when she got home. Rice moved to Boston, Massachusetts for college; she attended the Berklee College of Music.[4]

In New York she is also a member of a five piece band called Rubblebucket.[1][5]
