Leurocycloceras

Leurocycloceras is an extinct genus of actively mobile carnivorous cephalopod, essentially a Nautiloid, that lived in what would be North America, Europe, and Asia during the Silurian from 443.7—418.7 mya, existing for approximately 25 million years.[1]

Morphology

The shell is usually long, and may be straight ("orthoconic") or gently curved. In life, these animals may have been similar to the modern squid, except for the long shell.

Fossil distribution

Fossil distribution is exclusive to Great Britain, Wisconsin USA, and northern Ontario, Canada.

gollark: I mostly get my notification stuff via RSS, but YouTube undoubtedly refuses to support that too.
gollark: You're missing great ones like "But I'm just going to say, I'd get a put option on you if you were publicly traded".
gollark: It's a bit repetitive.
gollark: We need some sort of list of good spirit quotes.
gollark: It might be more efficient (for me (if I could actually be bothered)) to just use patreon for support, except I think they *do* take a significant cut of things and are bad for small-amount-per-month donations.
