Lapland (constituency)

Lapland is a Finnish constituency represented in eduskunta. It covers the administrative region of Lapland, with a population of 187,777 (as of 2002). Lapland currently elects seven members of eduskunta.

The constituency is largely rural, and the only cities in the area are small. Thus, the dominant party has traditionally been the rural Centre Party. The second party has been SKDL/Left Alliance.

The other two major Finnish parties, the social democratic SDP and conservative NCP have usually received one of the seats in the constituency. The NCP has often allied with the Christian Democrats.

gollark: 7, actually.
gollark: Can you summarise it for those who haven't bothered to set up audio drivers on their main computer?

gollark: I was on a somewhat tight budget, so it's two partial-cube-edgey-bits and assorted wiring off to the side.
