Kuru (mythology)
Kuru (Meitei: ꯀꯨꯔꯨ) or Soraren (Meitei: ꯁꯣꯔꯥꯔꯦꯟ) is the Supreme God, Creator of the universe and the Sky God in Meitei mythology and religion. He is better known as Atiya Kuru Sidaba.[1][2] The term Atiya mean the vast and empty sky; Kuru or Kulu, the round or circular hemisphere; and Shidaba or Sidaba, immortal.

Etymology
- In modern times, Kuru is also used to refer to a teacher or parent or educator or instructor, who stands above all hindrances and attraction.
- Another usage is for things pertaining to anything living or non-living.
- Other names of the Lord include Atiknga Kuru Sidaba, Atingkhok Maru Sidaba, Atiya Kuru Sidaba, Achiba Maru Sidaba, Salailen Sidaba, Tengbanba Mapu, etc.
