Kurland, Western Cape

Kurland (often referred to as Kurland Village) is a rural township in the Garden Route District Municipality in the Western Cape province of South Africa.

Located in the Crags area on the edge of the Tsitsikamma Nature Reserve, 20 km from Plettenberg Bay, it is said to be affected by high levels of unemployment and domestic violencet. There game reserves in the area for tourist attractions like, Birds of eden east side of the village and Tenikwa on the further side of the village, Monkey land and Elephant sentuary along with guest houses and B&B.These places they provide a vast of job opportunities to the locals. .[2] The Crags Primary School, built in 1981, is the only school in the village.[3]
