Kivukoni

Kivukoni meaning 'A crossing from a to b' in the Kiswahili language is one of Ilala district's wards in the coastal city of Dar es Salaam[1] in Tanzania.

The Port of Dar es Salaam Maritime Control Tower in south east of Kivukoni.

• The Makatumbe Range Rear Lighthouse is located on the island of Outer Makatumbe close to the coast of Dar es salaam, Tanzania. The lighthouse assists ships waiting in the strait that are about to enter the Kivukoni channel.[3][4][5]
• The Port of Dar es Salaam also has a lighthouse-styled structure that operates as the maritime control tower.[6]
