The place was gifted to Roshan Jahan Begum by her husband(the famous businessman Syed Muhammad Ali Imam) and was known as “Roshan House”.
Roshan Jahan Begum was forced to move to Karachi due to the 1971 war after which Roshan House was turned into Khulshi Thana (at Road Number 4 of Khulshi Residential Area).
Today, the Khulshi Residential Area (off Zakir Hossain Road) is known as the most prestigious and upscale residential area (consisting of just six roads) in Chattogram city.
