Club career

Osasuna

Born in Alfaro, La Rioja, Zabal came through the youth ranks at CA Osasuna and made his senior debut for their reserves in Segunda División B on 19 March 2006, in a 1–1 away draw against CF Badalona. On 28 June 2011, he was loaned to Segunda División team CD Numancia for the upcoming season,[1][2] and appeared in his first professional match on 7 September in the second round of the Copa del Rey, saving a penalty from Ander Lafuente in a shootout victory at FC Cartagena following a goalless draw.[3]

Zabal was loaned out again the following campaign, to second level club SD Huesca.[4] Despite only six competitive appearances and relegation, he signed a permanent deal with the Aragonese for the following year.[5]

Segunda B

After that, Zabal continued competing in division three, with CD Alcoyano,[6] CD Toledo, Arandina CF, SD Amorebieta and CD Calahorra.[7]

Atlético Ottawa

On 2 April 2020, Zabal signed with Canadian Premier League side Atlético Ottawa.[8]
