Background

The music from the album was taken from the DVD.[2] The album is the second released by the group to consist entirely of live tracks. Celtic Woman: O Christmas Tree also consisted entirely of live tracks, taken from the DVD release of Celtic Woman: Home for Christmas.[3][4][5]

On 20 April 2017 Celtic Woman announced a special performance of the Voices of Angels World Tour on 2 September 2017 at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland. It was confirmed in July 2017 that the show would be recorded as the group's next concert DVD and PBS special.[6][7][8]

The music was produced, arranged, and orchestrated by Gavin Murphy. The lead vocalists in the concert are Máiréad Carlin, Susan McFadden, Éabha McMahon and instrumentalist Tara McNeill. The DVD is the first to feature McNeill as a lead performer. McNeill appeared in the group's previous DVD, Celtic Woman: Destiny, as a harpist in the band, and performed both the violin and harp during Homecoming - Live From Ireland. This is the first time a lead instrumentalist of the group performed more than one instrument on one of the group's DVDs.

The concert features the Orchestra of Ireland and The Celtic Voices Choir. The concert also features guest singer Anabel Sweeney, who won a competition in Ireland to perform at the concert.[9][10][2]

Celtic Woman: Homecoming - Live From Ireland aired on PBS stations in the United States starting in November 2017. The television specials consist of a subset of the tracks available on the DVD. Both the CD and DVD were available through PBS pledge drives prior to their official release.[11] The concert special debuted on television in Ireland on 1 January 2018.[12]
