History
The Home was built in 1843.[2] She spent most of her life on Lake Erie before operating on Lake Michigan. In 1858 the Home sank after an early-morning collision with another schooner called the William Fiske while en route from Manitowoc, Wisconsin to Chicago, Illinois. She lies in 165 feet (50 m) of water about 10 miles (16 km) southeast of Manitowoc.[3]
