Geography

The village covers an area of 22.31 square kilometres (8.61 sq mi). It is the largest municipality in Olomouc District without the status of town.

Hlubočky lies approximately 13 kilometres (8 mi) north-east of Olomouc and 221 km (137 mi) east of Prague. On the north it borders to the military training area Libavá.

Demographics

It has a population of more than 4,000.

Economy

The village serves as a recreational area for inhabitants of Olomouc. There is also a ski resort, Ski areál Hlubočky.

The Honeywell Aerospace Work Olomouc is located there, formerly known as Moravia Aerospace Motor Works.
