Bělkovice-Lašťany lies approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) north-east of Olomouc and 213 km (132 mi) east of Prague.
Lašťany is a birthplace of Czech fighter pilot Josef Bryks and there was revealed memorial plaque in honor of him in Lašťany on 4 June 1994.
At Lašťany was founded popular and iconic club of supercars owners named ROADTRIP GANG.
