Haitham Zein

Haitham Zein (Arabic: هيثم زين; born 6 January 1979) is a Lebanese former footballer who played as a forward. He played for numerous Lebanese Premier League clubs, as well as at Bahrain SC, and represented Lebanon internationally.

Club career

Zein started with Tadamon Sour and spent eight years, scoring 94 league goals.[1] He moved to Nejmeh in 2006, spending half a season, before moving to Bahrain Club. He returned to Lebanon in 2008, signing for Chabab Ghazieh, before moving to Islah Borj Shmali the following season. In 2011 he signed for Salam Sour, retiring that season. Zein scored 112 goals in the Lebanese Premier League.

International career

Zein represented the Lebanon national football team between 1998 and 2004. During that time, he scored three goals for Lebanon in the WAFF Championship, two at Jordan 2000.[2] The first was against Iraq in the 15th minute (Lebanon 1-2 Iraq), and other one was Kyrgyzstan in the 41st minute (Lebanon 2-0 Kyrgyzstan). The last time he scored at the championship was at Iran 2004.[3] He scored in the 65th minute against rivals Syria.

Zein played 32 international matches for Lebanon, scoring 15 goals in the process.[4]
