The star HD 93083 is named Macondo. The name was selected in the NameExoWorlds campaign by Colombia, during the 100th anniversary of the IAU. Macondo is the mythical village of the novel One Hundred Years of Solitude (Cien años de soledad).[3][4]
Planetary system
In 2005, the discovery of a planet orbiting the star was announced. This is another discovery using the radial velocity method with the HARPS spectrograph.[5]

gollark: Actually, that's still weird, it doesn't look like it converges on some value.
gollark: Oh, minus infinity.
