The star HD 205739 is named Sāmaya. The name was selected in the NameExoWorlds campaign by Sri Lanka, during the 100th anniversary of the IAU. Sāmaya means peace in the Sinhalese language.[2][3]
A Jupiter-like planet has recently been detected in a Mercury-like eccentric orbit around this star.
There is a trend in the results which may point to an additional companion further from its star.[4]
