Gogte Institute of Technology
Gogte Institute of Technology (GIT; Kannada: ಗೋಗಟೆ ಇನ್ಸ್ಟಿಟ್ಯೂಟ್ ಆಫ್ ಟೆಕ್ನಾಲಜಿ ಬೆಳಗಾವಿ Hindi: गोगटे प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान बेलगाम) is an Indian engineering college in Belgaum, Karnataka, which is affiliated autonomous under Visvesvaraya Technological University. The college was founded in 1979 to meet the growing demand for technically-trained workers. It received the Excellent Technical Education Institute in Karnataka award at the August 9, 2014 National Karnataka Education Summit and Awards at Visvesvaraya Technological University in Bangalore.[1] The award was presented for the institute's good profile, academics, and student performance. Industrialist Balkrishna "Raosaheb" Gogte donated ₹1 million to the Karnataka Law Society to finance a new engineering college,[2] which was named in his honor.[3]

Indian President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated the platinum jubilee of Belgaum-based Karnataka Law Society and Raja Lakhmagouda Law College on September 15, 2018, and addressed a gathering at the institute. Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala, Chief Justice Dipak Mishra, Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy, Supreme Court Judges Abdul Nazeer, Vineet Saran and Mohan Shantan Goudar, Attorney General K.K. Venugopal, MP Suresh Angadi, Karnataka Law Society president Anant Mandagi, and Chairman M. R. Kulkarni were also present.[4][5][6][7][8]

Mechanical engineering

Electronics and communication engineering

Master of Computer Applications
The Master of Computer Applications (MCA) program, which began in 1999, is affiliated with VTU. The department also offers Java certification programmer, Oracle certified professional, and Red Hat certification courses.
Chemistry
The department started in 1979 to teach chemistry to undergraduate engineering students. It offers an MSc Engineering degree and a PhD programme affiliated with Visweswaraya Technological University, Belgaum.
Physics
The department offers a B.E. degree.
Mathematics
The department offers a MSc degree, leading to a PhD.
MBA
The Master of Business Administration department, affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University, began in September 2007. The MBA program is four semesters (two years), with specializations in marketing, finance, human resources, information systems, production and international business.
