George Kemel

George Kemel (birth registered first ¼ 1931[2]) is an English former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1950s and 1960s. He played at representative level for Great Britain, and at club level for Widnes, as a hooker, i.e. number 9, during the era of contested scrums.[1]

George Kemel played hooker in Widnes' 13-5 victory over Hull Kingston Rovers in the 1964 Challenge Cup Final during the 1963–64 season at Wembley Stadium, London on Saturday 9 May 1964, in front of a crowd of 84,488.
