Eurovision 2007 : et si on gagnait ?

France chose their entry through a national final consisting of 10 performers selected by the five French television broadcasters: France 2, France 3, France 4, France 5 and RFO. Successful French acts of the past five years were able to submit their entries, with emphasis put on more contemporary musical styles. Each of the five broadcasters selected two entries for the competition from the 1,500 received submissions based on a number of criteria:[1][2]

  • France 2 – Variety
  • France 3 – Newcomers
  • France 4 – Rap and rock music
  • France 5 – Pop music
  • RFO – World music (one artist selected via the music show 9 Semaines et 1 Jour)[3]

Final

The final took place on 6 March 2007 at La Plaine St-Denis TV Studios in Paris, hosted by Julien Lepers and Tex. Ten songs competed and the winner was determined by a combination of the votes from public televoting and a jury panel (headed by Jean-Paul Cara) in two rounds. In the first round, the top two entries were selected to proceed to the second round, the superfinal. In the superfinal, "L'amour à la française" performed by Les Fatals Picards were selected as the winner.[4]
