Eurolaul 2005
Eurolaul 2005 was the twelfth edition of the Estonian national selection Eurolaul, which selected Estonia's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2005. The competition consisted of nine entries competing in a final on 5 February 2005.
Competing entries
On 13 October 2004, ETV opened the submission period for artists and composers to submit their entries up until 6 December 2004. 92 submissions were received by the deadline.[1] A 10-member jury panel selected 10 finalists from the submissions. The selection jury consisted of Jaak Joala, Priit Hõbemägi, Meelis Kapstas, Jaan Elgula, Allan Roosileht, Olavi Pihlamägi, Maarja-Liis Ilus, Hanna-Liina Võsa, Urmas Lattikas and Jaagup Kreem. The 10 songs were announced on 9 December 2004.[2] On 2 February 2005, "Nevermore Island" performed by Julia Boman was disqualified due to the song having been commercially released in December 2003.[3]
Final
The final took place on 5 February 2005 at the ETV studios in Tallinn, hosted by Ines and Marko Reikop. "Let's Get Loud" performed by Suntribe was selected as the winner entirely by a public televote.

At Eurovision
Because Estonia failed to qualify in 2004 Suntribe were forced to compete in the Eurovision semi-final, performed 12th, following Belgium and preceding the Norway. They came 20th with 31 points failing to qualify to the Grand Final. Therefore, Estonia will have to compete in the semi-final again in ESC 2006.
The spokesperson who revealed Estonia's votes for other countries was Estonia's 1996 and 1997 entrant Maarja-Liis Ilus.[4]

Suntribe
The winner of the national selection was girl band Suntribe.[6] The original line-up was Mari-Leen Kaselaan, Rebecca Kontus, Laura Põldvere and Jaanika Vilipo. They were later joined by a fifth member, Daana Ots.
Estonia performed in twelfth position in the semi-final of the 2005 Contest which was held in Kiev, Ukraine on 19 May 2005, but failed to qualify for the grand final after finishing in 20th place.[7] Several members of the band later split to pursue solo careers.
