El Afweyn District (Somali: Degmada Ceel Afweyn), also known as El Afweyne District, is a district in the western Sanaag region. Its capital lies at El Afweyn.

Demography
The total population of El Afweyn is 15,474. The district is primarily inhabited by people from the Somali ethnic group, with the Habar Jeclo sub-clan of the Isaaq well represented.[1]
