As the route is yet to be fully electrified, it is hauled by a Diesel Loco Shed, Tughlakabad based WDM-3A from Okha up to Vadodara handing over to Vadodara Electric Loco Shed based WAP-4 or WAP-5 locomotive. Vadodara Electric Loco Shed based WAP-4 or WAP-5 locomotive will take train till Lucknow where Diesel Loco Shed, Lucknow based WDM-3A will complete remainder of the journey until Guwahati.
