The Dwarf Karoo girdled lizard (Cordylus aridus) is a species of lizard in the family Cordylidae. It is a small, spiny lizard found in South Africa.[3]

Description
The dwarf Karoo girdled lizard is the smallest species in the Cordylidae family. The lizard's body is flat and shielded. Spines are on the tail. The head, body, and tail of the lizard are brown to black, while the belly is white.[3]
Distribution and habitat
This lizard lives in southern Karoo, South Africa,[3] particularly Prince Alfred District, Farm Botterkraal, and Western Cape Province.[1] It inhabits rocky outcrops.[3]
Behavior
This is a shy lizard, so it hides in rock crevices.[3] It is ovoviviparous.[1]
