Desert League
The Desert League of Professional Baseball was an independent baseball league that began in 2016.[1] The league played an eight-week season. Unlike other independent leagues, it featured a winter schedule playing games from January through March.

History
The Desert League aims to give a chance at exposure to undrafted and first-year players. The league features a 12-rookie roster requirement.
The league has four teams based in California and Arizona. Cañeros de Somerton are an affiliate of the Mexican Pacific League club Cañeros de Los Mochis.[2] After the 2016 season the Desert League saw over 70 players promoted.
The league canceled its 2018 season.
