The show was produced by Zee Entertainment Enterprises’ content engine, Essel Vision Productions. The auditions for DID Season 5 began in April and were held across 17 cities to scout for the most deserving dancing talent. To groom the contestants and brought out the best in them, DID 5 brought on board an all-new trio of masters – Mudassar Khan, Gaiti Siddiqui and Punit Pathak. Actor Mithun Chakraborty returned as the Grandmaster on the show.

While Master Mudassar had been on the judges’ panel in the previous season, that was a new role for Gaiti and Punit, who was a contestant in the second season of DID.[1]

This season was premiered on 27 June 2015. Like previous seasons Jay Bhanushali hosted the season too. Season 5 was ended on 10 October 2015 by celebrating Grand Finale. Proneeta Swargiary was the winner of this season and Nirmal Tamang was 1st runner-up.[2]

gollark: Unless the e-ink variants started running Android recently.
gollark: Not the Kindle *Fire* ones with a regular LCD panel.
gollark: No, I mean the e-ink ones.
gollark: Fun fact: you can actually install applications of some sorts on the e-ink kindles because they run a bizarre Linux-y OS.
gollark: Happy chicken, ninja of clouds!
