History

On September 1, 2017, DDT Pro-Wrestling sold 100% of its shares to the Japanese digital advertising company CyberAgent. In January 2020, it was announced that CyberAgent had purchased Pro Wrestling Noah.[2] On July 27, 2020, it was announced Noah and DDT would merge in a new company.[3] The decision came after financial troubles faced by Noah and DDT due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Along with this, Sanshiro Takagi was announced as president of the promotion as well as announcing the goal of running events at the Tokyo Dome and to overtake New Japan Pro Wrestling in popularity.[4] It was also revealed that the Noah and DDT brands will not be retired but be two different brands within CyberFight similar to WWE's brand extension.
