County Clare Building

The County Clare Building (Irish: Áras Contae an Chláir) is a municipal building in Ennis, County Clare, Ireland.

History

Originally meetings of Clare County Council were held at Ennis Courthouse.[1][2] The new county building, which was designed by Henry J Lyons & Partners, was completed in May 2008.[3][4] It was commended in the public buildings category in the Irish Architecture Awards held by the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland in 2008.[5] The council meeting room was upgraded in 2018 when new fixtures and fittings, including 22 chairs and a 7-metre bespoke table featuring the council coat of arms, were acquired at a cost of €51,000.[6]

gollark: One idea for that is to have people pay upfront kickstarter-style, but that has its own problems too.
gollark: I don't really know how intellectual property issues "should" work, although I don't think the current approach of "just pretend they work like non-duplicable physical goods as much as possible" is a very good one.
gollark: I'm not saying that (Doctor Dan might be partly), just that it's not the same as theft and probably quite complex.
gollark: That seems a confusing line of thinking, it's not like the creator actually loses something like they would in actual theft.
