Climate Policy Initiative

The Climate Policy Initiative (CPI) is a climate think tank of 70[1] analysts and advisors that works to improve energy and land use policies around the world, with a particular focus on finance.[2]

The Climate Policy Initiative should not to be confused with Initiative on Climate Change policy and Governance (ICCG), formerly (up to 2017) International Center for Climate Governance.

CPI is an independent, non-profit organization, mainly supported by Open Society Foundations,[2] but also by another 18 charitables.[1] It is considered a leader expert group in tracking global climate finance.[3]

In TTmap, a worldwide observatory on climate think tanks, CPI was ranked 49th. The first one is the Woods Hole Research Center.[2]

History

CPI started operations in 2009.[2]

gollark: Those don't support things like compressing using a shared dictionary, and also have inconsistent support for advanced features.
gollark: There are still cases where it might be useful to read part of an archive. Such as if you have tar-based backups, or you want to read just the metadata out of a package tarball, or you want to just list all the files in a big one.
gollark: Lzip is neat apart from being entirely tied to LZMA, which is now obsoleted by zstandard.
