Cinnabar, Queensland
Cinnabar is a locality in the Gympie Region, Queensland, Australia.[1]

History
The locality was probably named around 1873 using the popular name for sulphide of mercury, because of the mercury deposits in the area.[1]
Cinnabar State School opened in 1916 and closed in 1971. Cinnabar Upper State School opened in 1922 and closed in 1927.
