Budge Budge Thermal Power Station

Budge Budge Thermal Power Station is a coal-based thermal power plant located at Achipur near Budge Budge town in South 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal. The power plant is operated by the Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation or CESC Limited. This project was completed in 1997 and at first was headed by Mr. Samir Gopal Deb, Superintendent (Planning) CESC. It is one of the best power plants in Asia. It is under the R. P Goenka group.

Capacity

It has an installed capacity of 750 MW (3x250 MW).[1] It became fully operational in 1997.[2]
