The station broadcasts locally on 98.1 FM in Barry and the central Vale, 100.2fm in Llantwit Major and the Western Vale and soon on 106.1fm in Penarth and the Eastern Vale of Glamorgan.[1]
The station is also available online via www.broradio.fm, smart speakers and the stations dedicated smart phone app.
Based at studios and offices within the Barry YMCA on Court Road in Barry, Bro Radio launched on Tuesday 31 March 2009[2] with Let's Get the Party Started by Pink.
Bro Radio's schedule consists of locally produced programming including music-led daytime output, local news & features, interviews, sports & events coverage, and specialist programming during the evenings and at weekends.
The station also carries local news bulletins seven days a week and hourly national bulletins from Sky News Radio 24 hours a day. Aside national news, all of the station's output is produced and presented locally by a team of 60 volunteers, a paid operations director and sales and finance manager.[2]
