British Speedway Championship

The British Speedway Championship.[1] is an annual motorcycle speedway competition open to British national speedway riders. The winner of the event becomes the British Speedway Champion. It has been open in the past to riders from British dominions and was dominated in its early years by riders from New Zealand such as Barry Briggs and Ivan Mauger; this was because the British Final formed part of the World Individual Speedway championship qualifying rounds. From 1975 onwards Australia and New Zealand held their own World Individual Speedway championship qualifying rounds. In the first dozen finals, it was only won twice by a British born rider, both times by Peter Craven.

Australian Rory Schlein rode in the 2017 and 2018 British Final under an ACU (British) licence.[2]

gollark: Can you bring them even closer or does it not permit you continuous controls like that?
