Borislav Paravac

Borislav Paravac (Serbian Cyrillic: Борислав Паравац; born 18 February 1943) is a Bosnian Serb politician and the former 7th Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 10 April 2003 until 6 November 2006.[1]

Paravac was born on 18 February 1943 in Kostajnica near Doboj in northern Bosnia. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Zagreb in 1966. From 1990 to 2000, he was the Municipality president of Doboj, and was also a Member of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska.

In the 2002 Bosnian general election, Paravac was elected to the House of Representatives. Following the dismissal of Mirko Šarović from his post at the presidency by the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Lord Paddy Ashdown, Paravac was appointed to the post on 10 April 2003. He held the position of chairman on two occasions.
