Borax Springs, California
Borax Springs is a former settlement in Lake County, California.[1] It was located on Clear Lake near Eastlake.[1]
The name was bestowed due to the borate in the spring waters, replacing the previous name Bloodton, a racist reference to the gypsy blood that was spilled retaking the town.[1]
