History

On 30 June 1855, a large number of Santals assembled in a field in Bhognadih, they declared themselves as free and took oath under the leadership of Sido Murmu and Kanhu Murmu to fight unto the last against the British rulers as well as their agents. Every year on the same date 30 June, a Shahid Mela is organised here, which has national level importance, to pay respect to the hul (rebellion) heroes.[1]

Hul Divas

In the memory of Santhal Hul (rebellion), Hul Divas (Rebellion Day) is celebrated each year, specially among Santhal tribes. It is now a custom that each year Chief Minister of Jharkhand state visit this place, and pay respect to Sidho and Kanho.[2]

Future plan

The government of state is going to develop this village as historic site with modern facility.[3]

gollark: That... sounds problematic.
gollark: Your *phone*?
gollark: The partition my bot's database is on apparently has 100GB free.
gollark: My thing stores all its data in a single SQLite3 database which is apparently 32KB.
