History
Bassett Place was built in 1962 as Bassett Center, and the mall was enclosed fully in 1974.[3] When it first opened, its tenants included White House Department Store, Popular Dry Goods, and Kresge.[4]
The Popular store became Dillard's in 1995,[5] and was torn down in 2000 for Costco.[6] Mervyns was converted to Kohl's a year after closing in 2008.[3] White House was demolished for a Target Greatland, that opened in 1993. Conn's was added in 2012.[7] In 2016, the shopping center reconfigured its food court to make room for El Paso's first Dave & Buster's location.
