Geography

Ban Pa is bordered to the north by Thothae of Wat Bot District, to the east by Wang Thong of Wang Thong District, to the south by Don Thong and to the west by Hua Ro.[1] Ban Pa lies in the Nan Basin, which is part of the Chao Phraya Watershed. The Wang Yao River flows through the subdistrict.[1]

History

The local legend is that Ban Pa was originally a thick rain forest, settled primarily by Laotian emigrants who cleared the vegetation for farm land.[1] However, much of the land turned out to be unsuitable for agriculture, as the Wang Yao River seasonally floods and dries to too great an extent to sustain profitable farming.[1]

Economy

The economy of Ban Pa is based on agriculture and contract labor.[1]
