Angela Marino

Angela Marino (born 3 February 1986) is a New Zealand professional women's basketball player currently playing for the Adelaide Lightning in the Women's National Basketball League.[1] She has previously represented the Canberra Capitals, including winning the WNBL championship in 2006, and the Perth Lynx.

Personal

Marino was born in Waiuku to Italian parents before moving to Australia as an infant. Her father is the current owner of the Adelaide Lightning, the team she is currently playing for.[2] Though born in New Zealand, she has represented South Australia at the under 20s level during the Australian National Junior Championships.[3]

International career

Marino represented the Tall Ferns at the 2004 Olympics at 18 years of age,[4] and was selected to participate in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.[5]
