Andy Nelson (sound engineer)
Andy Nelson is a British re-recording mixer and sound engineer working in Los Angeles, California. He has won two Academy Awards for Best Sound and has been nominated for 19 more in the same category. He has worked on over 150 films since 1980. In addition to the Academy Awards, Nelson has won five BAFTA Award for Best Sound and has been nominated for eight more in the same category. He was awarded the Australian Centenary Medal in the Queen's 2001 New Year Honours List for his services to Australia society and Australian film production.

gollark: I mean, to be fair, it's likely quite hard to self-teach 3 years of full time stuff.
gollark: The additional spending of the top ones apparently goes on research quite a lot. That doesn't impact teaching quality much in *most* areas, since I don't think that much of your education is going to be in state of the art research. Maybe the last year.
gollark: Prestigious is the more accurate word I guess.
gollark: I expect there are significant diminishing returns with actual teaching quality in the trendier universities.
