Ampelovirus

Ampelovirus is a genus of viruses, in the family Closteroviridae. Plants serve as natural hosts. There are currently 12 species in this genus including the type species Grapevine leafroll-associated virus 3. Diseases associated with this genus include: yellowing and necrosis, particularly affecting the phloem.[1][2]

Structure

Viruses in Ampelovirus are non-enveloped, with flexuous and Filamentous geometries. The diameter is around 10-13 nm, with a length of 1400-2200 nm. Genomes are linear, around 17.9kb in length. The genome codes for 13 proteins.[1]

Life cycle

Viral replication is cytoplasmic. Entry into the host cell is achieved by penetration into the host cell. Replication follows the positive stranded RNA virus replication model. Positive stranded rna virus transcription is the method of transcription. The virus exits the host cell by tubule-guided viral movement. Plants serve as the natural host. Transmission routes are mechanical.[1]

gollark: I'd say it's Discord's fault - assuming this is true of course, I haven't seen it tested - for implementing such an awful system.
gollark: Since apparently the idea is that the restricted channels would still be visible to everyone but approved-submitter-only, you could maybe do *roles* for "knows lasers" and stuff and ask people to check that before offering advice on some things. Though you'd have to have that be checked manually, unlike with a channel.
gollark: It seems like there's kind of an excess of channels even *now*, without that in place.
gollark: Maybe written with pictures could work for some of that.
