History
- On July 1, 1957, Amanat Al-Asima (Arabic: امانة العاصمة literally: Capital Secretariat) were formed.[2]
- In 1977, Amanat Al-Asima merged with Al-Baladiyat to form Al-Amana (Arabic: الأمانة literally: Secretariat).[3] Al-Baladiyat (Arabic: البلديات literally: Municipalities)[3] were a club formed in 1974 by the merger of Esalet Al-Mai (Arabic: إساله الماي literally: Water Liquefaction, formed in 1954)[4] and Maslahat Naqil Al-Rukab (Arabic: مصلحة نقل الركاب literally: Passenger Transport Department, formed in 1956).[5]
- On August 5, 2009, Al-Amana was renamed to Baghdad (Arabic: بغداد).[6]
- In 2014, Baghdad renamed to Amanat Baghdad (Arabic: أمانة بغداد literally: Mayoralty of Baghdad).[7]
Stadium
Since 2011 Amanat Baghdad have got their own stadium. The Amanat Baghdad Stadium holds 5,000 people.
