1978–79 Iraqi National League

The 1978–79 Iraqi National League was the 5th season of the competition since its foundation in 1974. Al-Zawraa won their third league title in four seasons, and also won the 1978–79 Iraq FA Cup to secure the double, cementing their dominance on Iraqi football. For the third season in a row, the champions of the league did not lose a single match.[1][2]
